New green space on London Road

The junction of London Road and Coombe Road has a vast area of asphalt on the east side where Coombe Road comes in at an angle. Can this area be filled in with grass, or planting? This area isn't really needed for visibility, maybe even a large tree in this gateway location.

There's a general lack of greenspace in this part of the neighbourhood with a lot of medium density residential having limited outdoor space on noisy busy roads. Even small green spaces can reduce urban heating, absorb noise and act as sustainable drainage.
