Tackle anti-social behaviour in Orchard Walk
Orchard Walk is in constant use by local families who have to walk past the daily meeting place for the drug dealers and users.
The tunnel is the perfect hiding place for these individuals. There is no CCTV and there is access at both ends.
While I understand police resources are fewer than ever, a brief concentrated operation would surely culminate in the capture of some regular dealers .
CCTV would be great help as a deterrent to drug dealers, graffiti 'artists' and fly-tippers and would create a safer environment for local people especially women and girls using the path alone at night.
It saddened me to hear a schoolboy tell his mate 'This is Drug Alley'.
In summary CCTV and a police operation to catch the drug dealers.
Why the contribution is important
Orchard Walk is in constant use during the day for families using Lidl or walking to and from Kingston town centre. It is also used at night. For some this is a shortcut. For others eg residents of Orchard Cottages, there is no alternative. It should be a safe place to walk.
