Skate Park/Pump Track
We feel a small skate park or pump track would be hugely beneficial to the Surbiton/Kingston area.
Despite the facility in Bushy Park, which requires membership and is often shut, a facility such as Tattenham Way pump track or a small version of Long Grove Skate Park would be a wonderful addition to the area.
Currently there is no facility that is within easy walking distance but the space needed is minimal. Fairfield Park, Green Park or Athelstan Park could all hold a basic set of ramps or pump track.
We do not feel the cost would be huge and local fundraising - which we would happily lead - could be actioned to fund.
Why the contribution is important
The benefit of these facilities is huge - it creates a community of respect where everyone helps and encourages, keeps people outside and off screens, physical exercise, learning new skills and growing in confidence.
Our eldest son is autistic and seeing how happy, confident and regulated he is in these spaces is hugely beneficial for him and our family. The way he works, helps and encourages his younger brother is also wonderful to witness.
