Improvements for the residents of Hook!
My idea is that more attention and resources be directed toward improving our neighborhook in Hook. It has significantly declined and is becoming quite run down, which, I believe is unfair to the residents who live here. Although this is not a large area, it stretches from one end of Hook to the other, and we all pay the same council tax as residents in other parts of Kingston.
However, it seems that we do not benefit from the same level of improvements or maintenance, for example we have had to look at the derelict building that used to be The Cap in Hand, and I have had to contact the council multiple times to request the cleanup of the boarding around it. Additionally the roundabout and central reservation in our area are in poor condition and are crying out for maintenance and improvements.
Furthermore, the grass area on the conrner of Hook Road and Priory Road is now a complete mess. The flowers that used to be planted there have been replaced by overgrown shrubs and weeds, which also brings down the appearance of our neighbourhood.
It is very disappointing that residents in Hook have had to endure living in a negleted area for so long. So I would ask for more attention and resources be directed toward improving our nieghbourhood, including the roundabout and central reservation.
Why the contribution is important
It is important because a well maintained area not only improves the but also enhances safety for residents, reduces vandalism and fosters a sense of pride among residents. Moreover, a tidy and attractive enviroment can encourage more community engagement and make Hook a more welcoming place for everyone.
