Lack of Facilities for the Youth of the RBK South of the Borough Community
We need our RBK Leader of the Council, Councillors and Council Officers to look at and invest in more facilities for the Youth of the RBK South of the Borough Community (Chessington - Hook - Malden Rushett )
Why the contribution is important
Sadly we are seeing an increase in the ASB (Anti Social Behaviour ) occurring in the RBK SOB Community.
When you speak to residents the ongoing theme seems to be the lack of facilities available to our Children and Youth. We have one Youth Club successfully run by Gary Weston -Shaw and the Team from Achieving for Children that is based at Chessingtton Sports Centre on the Chessington School Site.
This facility is well over subscribed and we need the Council to look at providing further venues within South of the Borough Community.
We have seen in the past community facilities disposed of for a quick profit but has left us with the ASB issues to deal with. Not just sites used for Youth Club but facilities for the elderly e.g.Day Centres.
We need assurances from our RBK Leader of the Council , Councillors and Council Officers from the Strategic Leadership Team down that Community facilities such as the ex British Legion site is kept within the Community domain and under community ownership and not disposed of, as it would have been in the past to resolve a short term financial issue.
We have very little community owned space or facilities left, much of it being sold off for development so what we do have is gold dust in its contribution to community life and needs to be protected
