R Council Purchaes Chessington Golf Club Land for the Communityty
In the RBK South of trhe Borough Community we have Chessington Golf Course site that is Green Belt and is under continous threat from developers. We would ask this situation is taken away by RBK Purchasing the land on behalf of the Community .
Why the contribution is important
In the RBK South of trhe Borough Community we have Chessington Golf Course site that is Green Belt and is under continous threat from developers. We would ask this situation is taken away by RBK Purchasing the land on behalf of the Community .
The old club house ahs been vandalised and we have issues with ASB on the site.
The area taken up by the car park and club house can be used for liesure activities under the convenant that covers the Land
Thsu are coukld be used by the Ciouncil to build the local swimmimng pool by our Leader of the Council and our Local ward Councillor Andreas Kirsch.
Also we have an urgent need for facilities for the youth of the South of the Borough that would help in tackling ASB and the site could aslo accomodate facilities for a Youth Club etc.,
The site is across the road from chessington South station (step free access for diabled people) and served by the 71 Bus Route (every 8 - 10 mins).
The site has become the home of the other residents i.e. flora and fauna that share our community and possibly with the help of Citizen Zoo in partnership with RBK we could have our own Tolworth Court Farm alongside a long awaited replacement for the Moor Lane Swimming Pool closed in 2012 that was training 500 of our School chldren a week to swim.
At the time Councillor Rachel Reid said “Moor Lane has got a history behind it and it serves the community. I learnt how to swim there, my sister did too and my kids have had lessons there.”
I beleive there is a precedence when RBK purchased the land on the East side of the A240 Tolworth Court Farm Manor for the Community.
