Removal of Short Bus Lane Moor Lane Chessington
We have been asking the Council to remove the short length of Bus Lane in Moor Lane. We find it actually adds to congestion i.e at peak traffic time traffic taken down to one lane approaching the mini roundabout so backs up to Garrison Lane holding up 71 Buses turning left from Garrison Lane into Moor Lane.
More importantly it is dangerous i.e. drivers who legally enter the bus lane when it is not enforced are cut up as they approach the mini roundabout by peoplein the outside lane who have not had time to read the enforcemnt days and times.
Chessington District Residnets Association have a Petiton asking for it to be removed and we have asked at the RBK South of the Borough Neighbourhood Meeting for our Councillors support to no avail.

Also the traffic Light Controlled Crossing at the same spot needs to be replaced with a more efficientt Zebra Crossing espeically now the speed linlit is 20MPH . Time and time again vehicles are held up with nobody crossing as they got fed up with waiting and crossed at pedestrian red. With a Zebra crossing traffic only stops when people are waiting and in most cases you get an exchange of salutations and a smile espeically from children saying thankyou whilst crossing.
Why the contribution is important
To make our Roads Safer and less congested.
