That RBK work with our MP , LAM to make entrance to CWA ULEZ Exempt
That our Council along with our MP and London Assembly Member lobby the London Mayor to make the section of the Leatherhead Road between Rushett Lane \Fairoak Lane Cross Roads and entrance to Chessington World of Adventures Safari Hotel exempt from ULEZ Charges.
Why the contribution is important
Chessington World of Adventure is one of if not the biggest employer within the RBK South of the Borough Community. They contribute £m's to the local Community and also support the Community in many ways e.g. Celebrate Chessington.
At the moment a family coming from the other end on the country travel all the way to the Adventure Park fro the day or saty in the Safari Hotel for a short break. They find when the get to travle the last ¾ mile from the cross roads at Rushett Lane\Fairoak Lane north down the Leatherhead Road they are hit with having to pay the Mayors ULEZ Charge. They then have to pay it again when they leave after their stay at the Safari Hotel.
This is having a detrimental effect on the Chessington World of Adventures Business and can make the differnce of potential customers choosing to go elsewhere.
Their contribution to the pollutiuon is minimal and the Mayor is possibly hitting the people that have trouble treaiting their children to a short break never mind adding £25 to their saty for having used a ¾ mile stretch of the TFL Leatherhead Road..
We would ask the ULEZ starts at the North Side of the Entrance to Chessington World of Adventures Safari and Azteca Hotel's.
