General laziness in the borough

Would the residents of many roads in the borough especially around surbiton/ Tolworth  take the goods children's toy's; books , home furnishing  to a charity shop or put them on Facebook market place or indeed freecycle . 
instead of leaving them on the street on boundary walls for others to take typical of this not my problem society, it makes the street look and feel shabby . 

Because people think it's been neighbourly,  it's not I have seen decent kids books get completely soaked through from rain , who is going to take that away .
