Green Lane Rec Playground improvements

This playground is a rather depressing affair, located at the furthest possible end of the grounds, in an area that gets very wet and boggy. It is always under used, probably because of its location and poor upkeep.

Most people approaching from Berrylands enter from the direction of the roundabout at the junction of Raeburn/Elmbridge/Surbiton Hill Park. It is great that the entrance at this corner now has a tarmac path, but there is still a trudge across a muddy playing field (which is never used except as a dog toilet) to get to the playground.

The side of the playground by the picnic table is often under water and regularly floods. The rubberised flooring is breaking up in a number of places and the roundabout has hardly ever worked in the 5 years we’ve been going.

To make this a more popular playground it needs a serious overhaul. I can’t see it in the list of proposed works but would be great to see it added soon.

Why the contribution is important

It's a convenient location for kids in Berrylands away from very busy roads. It's a shame it doesn't get used more
