Hedge to separate Queen’s promenade from road pollution

The riverside gardens have been beautifully restored, however there is increased noise and pollution from the road traffic. A hedge would absorb particles, reduce noise and will make the riverside walk healthier and more enjoyable.

Why the contribution is important

It contributes positively to the public health targets by reducing noise and air pollution on Queen's promenade

FYI hedges have been planted by QPF volunteers in sections of of the promenade eg near to Palace Road. The promenade is dark after nightfall and sealing it off too much makes people feel vulnerable when using it after sunset; the only lighting comes from the street lights over Portsmouth Road.
