Honour Thomas Pooley

Thomas Pooley founded in Surbiton one of the world's first railway commuter suburbs.  In this town there should be something honouring his name other than a small run-down building in Langley Road.  When we built the Surbiton Medical Centre, there was a chance to honour him in naming a public buiilding.  Perhaps we could attach his name to the Session House.

Why the contribution is important

Thomas Pooley is a figure of great historic importance.  Surbiton is the place he created - his name is very strongly attached to our town.  We should be proud of the historical significance and striking originality in the creation of Surbiton as a thriving town/suburb, and we should take public steps to recognise this.
