More street/gutter cleaning
In so many cases around where I live , there are street drain points that are simply completely clogged with debris, that when it rains, very quickly pavemnets become impassible . I have read the Council's guidance on this and they simply do not drain awain 2 hours, and nor have many of them been cleaned properly in years. I have lived here for over 9 years now and I keep hoping to see a drain clearing truck appear!
Why the contribution is important
To help people simply walk along the streets and pavements. One evening, walking back from the Rotunda cinema complex, I had to walk in the middle of the road (Beaufort Road) because the gutters and pavements were overwhelmed and flooded.

This also has significant implications for safety. An example is that most of the drains on Upper Brighton Road are blocked. This leads to sheets of water during heavy rain and exposes cyclists to real hazards of spray, soaking and the risk of skidding.
A programme of drain maintenance should be a Council priority.
