Red tarmac on points where pedestrians cross the road.

Please bring back the red tarmac on the crossings close to Surbiton station.  They provided a hint to the driver to let pedestrians take priority without the imperative of a zebra crossing. It was a system that worked well until the road surfaces were re-tarmaced recently.  Crossing has become significantly more interesting since they disappeared.  The red tarmac is very visible and easily understood by those crossing and those driving.

Road safety is always important.
