Surbiton High Street

Limit the high street to bus / taxi / cycle / trade. 

Introduce some planting points along the street to make it feel greener, more of an avenue. Some points of the street being width restricted to make the street safer. Also allowing more outside space for dining / cafe. 

Why the contribution is important

Make the high street safer, less conjested and even more of a social space.

    I think that there should be toilets facilities on the high street in Surbiton. It's a pain that if you need to go to the toilet, you have to go to places like McDonalds and Waitrose. Most of the time, the toilets in Waitrose are out of order. so you can't even use the toilets there.

    Surbiton high street needs to be made more greener so that it’s better healthier living. It removes the notion of the concrete city feel.

    I fully support this idea and it adds to other comments made on this site about increasing the number of trees.

    I have also posted my idea about pedestrianizing part of Victoria Road, enabling more space for low-maintenance planters and/or additional trees.

    I love this idea about the High Street, less traffic, more greenery and benches and seating outside cafes ☕️

    Surbiton high street looking increasingly neglected with low grade shops e.g, vape, mobile phone, fast food shops. The area around McDonald's where the deliveroo scooters congregate is particularly unsightly.
    I'd welcome an increased cafe culture to add to the lovely Cafe Nero, with a healthy bakery or two (Gails?), particularly welcome.
